Create Positive Feelings Through Action!

Life is hectic, and after a mentally draining day, we get home, and spend our evenings watching television, reliving the events of the day, and sleeping. We pass the time by “zoning out.” While relaxing can be restorative after a bad day, we aren’t doing anything to replace the negativity of the day.

I want you to use your body to connect with the moment.

If you are feeling sad or down, you can change your mood by forcing a burst of changed energy. Use your body, and move… Do something, anything! Jump up and down. Take a walk. Stretch for a few minutes.

Whatever you choose to do with your body, imagine that the movement is filled with positivity and hope. Smile while you are doing this action. Just by moving your body, and changing your behaviour, you shake up the negative patterns in your brain and replace them with new, more positive feelings.

I always tell my clients to get into the body to get out of the mind. To slow down your mind, speed up your body. Just by moving your body, and changing your behaviour, you shake up the negative patterns in your brain and replace them with new, more positive feelings.
