We all know that conflict is inevitable in romantic relationships. No matter how much you love someone, you will share differences of opinion.
The good news is: it’s okay to have conflicts.
In fact, arguments could be a chance for you to better understand yourself and your partner. Conflict can even bring your relationship to a completely new level.
It’s not whether you fight with your partner or not, what’s more important is HOW you fight.
There are healthy ways of resolving conflict:
- Self-Control: Try not to let your emotions get the best of you. Breath…and filter what you’re about to say with the consequences in mind. Once words are said, there is no turning back.
- Don’t Withdraw: Even if all you want to do is to get away… when where to buy xanax your partner raises concerns, try not to avoid talking about a problem that exists.
- Speaker-Listener Technique: When your partner speaks, listen actively. Do not rebuff, but try to stand in their shoes and see things from their point of view. After your partner speaks, paraphrase what he or she just said to make sure that there is no misunderstanding. Once your partner feels heard, they will be more likely to listen to you.
